So I’m not gonna lie I’ve never really thought about what I believed in. I mean I know I believe in things I just never really thought about it that thoroughly. But I do have thoughts, and one of my thoughts is: I think it's kind of surprising that at CU whatever I say I'm a registered Republican I get sneers from students, like, ‘you believe in that how could you?!’ I never fully understood that. Now, I’m not going stand up here and play the, you know, political whatever version of the worlds smallest violin. But I still think it's fascinating because if you chat with me you’d realize I don't really subscribe to majority of what the Republicans these days say. I’m a registered Republican because I believe a small government. I'm not registered Republican because I don't believe in same-sex marriage or tax benefits for the “job creators.” I believe the government should be un-intrusive and that people should have the right to do they want in the privacy of their own homes.
The problem with the majority of Republicans today, at least from my opinion, is that they believe that if you're not running your life their way, you're wrong, that's why Republicans have in the past tried to push through bills that disallow same-sex marriage, or trying to put a kill switch on the Internet, because the problem in my opinion with the Republican Party is that it’s been taken hostage by the more religious right factions of this two-party system.
I'm not against religion, but I am against religion & government. Religion and government is what we did in the dark ages, and you know they don’t call it that because of a lack of sunlight. We call it that because when religion & governments are combined, progress slows.
Again I want to reiterate I’m not against religion. Religion has always been and will continue to be a great mediator, a check and balance, to make sure that we catch ourselves before we go to far. Religion has always very much been about we could do this, but should we do this, and I respect that wholeheartedly.
But to insist that it be connected within government in my opinion is a complete fallacy. If religion and government are connected then steps forward are truly limited and people who question that authority are then told to look upon God and ask “do you question him?” As if that preacher has a sort of authority over your knowledge! As if he somehow knows better! I don’t believe that.
So what do I believe? I believe that to be a republican, no a citizen of this country means you don’t have to subscribe to only two colors. -------------------- People, Take Your Country Back! This image is a compostion of 4 layers, the american flag, V (the character), the Chancellor (man with hands high), and then both Text Layers.I composed this in photoshop and ititally started with about 7 images. The Audio:My audio is now just me, but as of friday is was 3 layers of audio, I had been struggling finding the right music, I tried 2 songs from 'V for Vendetta' I tried a few melody's and even wanted to try the national anthem, but what this would need for it to work that way would be a re-write, I would want to make is a bit episodic, with every paragraph having its own song. but now I have created a HOW TO: Get your favorite song off youtube. 1. First get firefox if you don't know abou this web browser, its awesome, it's referred to as "Open Source" meaning that anyone can edit it, or add plugins.2. Don't worry, this plugin is kosher. Anyway then you will download an addon called Download Flash and Video. This thing is great it'll allow you to download video from youtube in the form of a .flv extension. What does that mean you ask? An extension refers to the end of a file name, anyone ever say I need that in a DOC (i.e. document) as in filename.DOC . So a .flv is a FLash Video.3. What your going to do is find a YouTube video you would like to download. Then instead of playing it, pause the video and let that little grey bar at the bottom of the video go all the way to the end.4. Once that happens, check out the bottom right corner of your browser, there might be a couple of items down there but the one that will concern you is a 'blue box' thing, this is the Flash and Video Downloader. This thing once clicked will give you an option to download the video name seen on that page. Click it, and it'll now ask you where you want to store it on your computer, this i'll leave to you to choose. But once it's downloaded on your computer your almost home. Now this is the more critical factor.5. You'll need to download a program to your computer, (its great, free, and has no viruses) its called Mpeg Streamclip download the mac or windows version of it for your computer and once that's done your ready to conver this .flv file into something you can play with.6. Upon downloading the program open it and then from the file menu open the video you downloaded. It'll appear in Mpeg Streamclip on the screen.7. Now from that same file menu, choose Export Audio. You'll be presented with a couple of option but what you'll need to care about is that the format is "wave" or "aiff" and that the sample rate is 48KHz. If your going to put this into a video, that part it critically important.8. Hit 'OK' and it ask you where to put the file.9. Your home free, you can now run this file in any audio/video program on your computer. cheers
